The story.
Version started in 2019 when its founders, tired of agencies that couldn't produce a single revenue-attributable case study, set out to build the opposite: a firm where every keyword ranked tied to a dollar figure on the client's P&L.
Our first category was supplements — the hardest DTC vertical on the internet, a commodity-priced industry with 400-page SERPs and obsessive SEO competition. We built a playbook around authority backlinks, Reddit and Quora engagement, and editorial PR placements that would let a private-label brand steal share from incumbents spending 10× on paid.
It worked. Nutricost went from 8 Google rankings to 20+ #1 placements across their most profitable supplement categories. One ASIN started pulling 30,000+ monthly clicks straight from Google. The playbook generalized — we moved it to DTC footwear (Vessi), SaaS (Oberlo, now part of Shopify), home services (Alta Pest Control), and from 2023 onward, to AI answer engines where the next competitive front is being fought.
Today, Version runs dedicated programs across five verticals — supplements & health, SaaS, home services, logistics, and food & beverage — and three search surfaces: Google, Amazon, and AI. We decline work outside our lanes. Specialization beats generalism in SEO, every single time.
